About HullLog
HullLog is a neutral record of observations made during charter trips. It functions like a lightweight captain's log, without ratings, reviews, or judgments.
It records what equipment was present, what conditions were observed, and when — without editorial judgment.
HullLog does not decide whether a vessel is good or bad. It preserves observations in time.
What HullLog Records
HullLog separates information by source, not by opinion.
Reference Information
Reference information comes from external sources such as charter listings, operator-provided specifications, or manufacturer documentation.
It reflects how a vessel is described or intended to be configured. Reference information is provided for context and is not independently verified.
Observed Information
Observed information is recorded by captains and crew during or after a charter.
It reflects what was noticed at a specific point in time and under specific conditions. Observed information may vary between trips and is preserved without reconciliation.
HullLog does not attempt to resolve differences between reference and observed information.
What HullLog Is Not
HullLog is not:
- •a review or rating platform
- •a booking or brokerage service
- •a safety certification
- •an assessment of operator performance or maintenance practices
Entries reflect individual observations only.
Why HullLog Exists
Charter listings describe vessels as they are intended to be configured. Captains and crew experience vessels during a specific trip.
HullLog exists to provide a shared, neutral record of those experiences so patterns can be understood over time by captains, crew, owners, and operators alike.
Responsibility and Use
All information in HullLog is user-submitted.
HullLog does not validate accuracy, completeness, or currency and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for safety, navigation, or operational decisions.
Observations do not imply fault, responsibility, or ongoing condition.
HullLog records observations. It does not pass judgment.
